프랑스 혁명광장(Trg Francoske Revolucije)

류블랴나는 1364년부터 1918년까지 오스트리아의 지배를 받았다.

그 중에 1809~1813년 동안 잠시 나폴레옹이 이곳을 정복한 기간이 있었다.

 나폴레옹은 류블랴나를 수도로 정했고 오스트리아 정부가 하지 않았던 여러 법 개정에 앞장섰다.

또한 슬로베니아 민족에게 프랑스어와 독일어 외에 자국 언어를 사용할 수 있도록 허락해주었고

이는 나중에 슬로베니아 문학을 발전시키는 큰 계기가 되기도 했다.

슬로베니아 민족은 오스트리아에서 잠시 벗어났던 나폴레옹의 시대가

그들에게 좋았던 시절로 기억되면서 이곳 류블랴나에 나폴레옹 기념비를 세웠다.

프랑스 외의 지역에서 나폴레옹 오벨리스크가 있는 곳은 이곳이 유일하다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

의회 광장에서 Kavalir(그린 젠틀맨, 전기차)로 중앙시장으로 이동

 

류블랴나 사람들은 대부분 걷거나 자전거를 이용한다.

도시 정책에 따라 도심에는 오전 제한된 시간대에만 운송차량의 출입이 잠깐 허용될 뿐이다.

거리를 다니다 보면 골프장 카트처럼 생긴 녹색 차량을 볼 수 있는데,

류블랴나시에서 운영하는 전기 차량 ‘KAVALIR’다. 이용 방법은 간단하다.

지나가다가 녹색 차가 보이면 운전기사에게 손짓을 해 차를 세우고 목적지를 말하면 된다.

공해도 없고, 요금도 없다. 내국인 외국인 제한 없이 누구나 이용 가능하니,

걷다가 지칠 때면 그저 멈춰 서서 손을 흔들기만 하면 된다.

Ljubljana's electric-powered vehicles referred to as Kavalirs (Gentle Helpers) are

a free city centre public transport option friendly both to people and the environment.

Kavalirs, mainly intended for the transport of the elderly, mobility-impaired people,

and visitors, run around the pedestrianized historical city centre at a speed slow

enough to allow you to hail them anywhere on the street.

Telephone ordering is also an option.

The Kavalir fleet currently consists of four vehicles, two of them open-sided and two glazed and heated in winter time.

Friendly Kavalir drivers will take you anywhere within the city centre pedestrian zone.

The vehicles, moving at a speed of up to 25 kilometres per hour, can carry five passengers.

The two open-sided 'summer Kavalirs' run in the warm part of the year, from April to the end of October,

whereas the glazed 'winter Kavalir' runs throughout the year,

during the summer season along a regular route between the Krekov trg square

and the city bus stop across the way from the Drama Theatre.

Free travel on board Kavalirs is made possible by the LPP, the city's bus company,

in collaboration with the City Municipality of Ljubljana and Ljubljana Tourism, the city's tourist board.

The introduction of electric-powered Kavalirs is part of the measures taken to make public transport in Ljubljana more environmentally friendly.

Ljubljana is well-known as a city that has made great progress in this particular area.

Over the last ten years, it has won two European Mobility Week Awards (handed out by the European Commission),

one in 2003 and the other in 2013.

1리터에 1유로이고 우유가  신선하고 시원하고 맛있다

2010년 개통한 현대식 다리, 부처스 브릿지(Mesarski Most, Butcher’s Bridge).

과거 류블랴나 중앙시장(Central Market)의 정육점(Butcher)들이 모여 있던 장소에 놓여 있어

이름 붙여진 부처스 브릿지는 ‘사랑의 다리(Love Bridge)’라고도 불리는데,

다리 양옆으로 자물쇠들이 잔뜩 채워져 있다.

연인이 함께 자물쇠를 걸어 잠그고 그 열쇠를 흐르는 강물에 던지면 그 사랑은 영원하다고.

그래서인지 유독 이 다리 위에는 거리악사들이 연주하는 달콤한 멜로디가 끊이지 않고 흐른다.

안타깝거나 풋풋한, 혹은 로맨틱한 사랑 이야기가 강을 타고 유유히 흐르는 류블랴나처럼.

사랑의 맹세는 여기저기서도 보인다

 

 

 

 

The Butchers' Bridge is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica

and it connects the Ljubljana Central Market and the Petkovšek Embankment.

The bridge was solemnly opened on 10 July 2010.

The original idea for a bridge on the site was expressed in the 1930s by the architect Jože Plečnik.

The modern bridge, which is far more simple than the original plan, features a staircase at its left entry,

a glass walking belts at the sides, and two fences with steel wires and wide top shelves.

It was designed by Jurij Kobe from the Atelier Arhitekti studio.

It is decorated with works by the sculptor Jakov Brdar.

The largest sculptures on the bridge represent figures from Ancient Greek and Christian/Jewish mythology.

One is Adam and Eve, shamed and banished from Paradise, after having been induced

by the Serpent to taste from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (they are walking towards Ljubljana Cathedral),

the other is Satyr, startled by the Serpent and Prometheus, running and disemboweled,

in punishment for having given knowledge (of fire) to mankind.

Too many Love padlocks are along both sides of the bridge and the glass-floor made me feel like i was in a room and not on a bridge.

Very modern and not suitable for old town around.
