화려한 색감이 남아있는 4400년전 이집트 고위관료 무덤 발견

이집트 수도 카이로 근처 사카라 유적지에서 새로운 고대 무덤이 발견됐다. 약 4400년 전 사망한 국가 고위층의 무덤으로 추정된다.
이집트 언론 알아흐람에 따르면 이번에 발견된 무덤의 주인은 고왕국 제5왕조(기원전 약 2494~2345년) 시대 살았던 고위 관료 ‘쿠위’의 무덤이다.

이 무덤이 발견된 곳은 고대 공동묘지 터다.

이 곳은 이집트 최초의 피라미드인 계단 모양의 ‘조세르 피라미드’와 상형 문자가 새겨진 ‘우나스 피라미드’ 등이 몰려있다.
고대 이집트 당시 공동묘지로 쓰인 사카라에서 발견된 쿠위의 무덤은 왕족의 피라미드와 비슷한 구조로 지어졌다.

지하로 향하는 무덤 입구에 들어서서 복도를 따라 걸어들어가면 쿠위의 미라와 벽화가 보인다.

흰색 석회암 위에 그려진 벽화들은 보존 상태가 좋아서 원래의 색을 잘 유지하고 있다.
최근 사카라에서는 제5왕조의 파라오 제드카레의 왕비를 비롯한 여러 고위층의 무덤이 잇따라 발견되고 있다
