16-2 샌프란시스코 시청사(San Francisco City Hall)

 

샌프란시스코 시청사는 1899년 완공된 건물로, 바로크 건축양식과 건물 위의 돔이 인상적인 건물이다.

1906년 샌프란시스코 대지진으로 일부 유실되었으나 1915년에 현재의 모습으로 재건 되었고,

관광객들의 기념 사진 촬영 장소는 물론, 수많은 신혼 부부들의 웨딩 사진 촬영 및 결혼식 장소로 이용되고 있다.

San Francisco City Hall is a huge structure occupying 2 City blocks.

It contains over 550,000 square feet of space.

 

The San Francisco City Hall dome is the tallest in the United States.

At 307 feet 6 inches, it is 42 feet higher than the dome in the Nation’s capital in Washington D.C.

 

The intricate 23.5 karat gold leaf finish was restored on the exterior surface of the City Hall Dome.

 

 

매일 저녁 일몰 때마다 220개가 넘는 최첨단 LED 조명 설비가 시청 외부를 밝힌다.

일반적으로 부드러운 흰색 조명은 전체 외관과 돔에 아름다운 빛을 발산한다.

그러나 많은 저녁에는 특별한 조명을 사용하여 행사, 계절, 공휴일을 기리거나 축하한다.
