30분을 달려 도착한 곳
몽키마이아와 덴햄 사이에 자연라군을 형성하고 있는 호수를 연상케하지만 실제는 바다다
말이 little lagoon이지 실제로는 거대한 바다같다.
Only four kilometres from town is this spectacular lagoon, a popular recreation site for tourists and locals alike.
Almost perfectly circular in shape the lagoon was once a land-locked birrida (gypsum pan)
that was inundated by the sea several thousand years ago.
An important nursery for several fish species,
the lagoon is a marine recreation zone that allows recreational fishing but prohibits the use of nets and spear guns.
Swimming, canoeing and kite-boarding is popular in the lagoon
and many kayakers enjoy the paddle through the channel which links it to the sea.
Facilities include shade shelters and BBQ’s around the lagoon shore.
Close by there is a viewing platform and disabled fishing platform over the channel.
Access to the lagoon is via the Monkey Mia Road leading to within a few metres of the water’s edge.
A pathway also leads to the lagoon from Denham for cyclists and walkers.

리틀라군에서 10여분만에 도시에 도착했다
몽키마이어로 가는 거점도시인 셈이다.
